🧡This class meets the first 4 Tuesdays of the month

🧡Join us for a four-week creative journey where young artists will discover how beloved children’s authors and illustrators use art to tell stories. 

🧡Together we’ll examine the work of Eric Carle, Leo Lionni, and Lois Ehlert, exploring their unique approaches to collage before creating original artwork inspired by their styles.

🧡This studio is designed to build both artistic confidence and foundational creative skills through hands-on exploration. Rather than focusing on perfect projects, children will experiment, observe, and create while learning how real artists think and work.

🧡Throughout the session, students will explore:

Primary colors and color mixing
Painted paper and collage techniques
Texture and pattern making
Cutting, tearing, and gluing with purpose
Composition and creative storytelling through art
Careful observation and attention to detail
Nature collecting as inspiration for artwork
Fine motor skills through meaningful art experiences
Creative problem-solving and artistic confidence

🧡Each class begins with a beautifully illustrated story, followed by a look at the featured artist’s techniques before children create artwork inspired by what they’ve discovered. Along the way, we’ll build an appreciation for children’s literature, develop foundational art skills, and encourage every child to create with curiosity, imagination, and confidence.
