Hi, I'm Katlin, the founder of Oak Folk Studio—an idea born from becoming a mother and wanting my son to grow up seeing me immersed in my craft, surrounded by creativity, community, and joy. I've always loved the saying “create what you wish existed”—Oak Folk is just that.
What has always drawn me to working with kids is their spontaneity, their boundless curiosity, and the unfiltered joy they bring into every space. My approach blends structure with playful exploration. I believe in the value of social-emotional learning, creative routines, and building spaces where children feel safe, seen, and inspired. My intention is to co-create a space where connection, growth, and laughter thrive.
A little more about my background:
🌼 BA in Film Production
🌼 Over 15 years experience in hospitality and childcare
🌼 10 years of public education experience teaching reading invervention, art, theater arts, and much more!
🌼 Masters in Elementary Education

🌼 Trained Doula
If you're visiting for the first time, know that you're entering a space where your child will be nurtured, challenged, and celebrated. We bring our whole hearts into this work—and I hope you’ll feel that in every class and every smile.
At Oak Folk Studio, everything we do is rooted in family. This dream is being built—quite literally—by our hands, with Ben pouring his heart into the renovations and construction that make our space come to life. Our family is at the core of this studio, and we believe in creating a place where children and families feel the same love, care, and connection that guide us every day. 💛
With Love xo,
Katlin, Ben, and Griffin
